Atrium 2

Responding to physical and psychological trauma is a daily occurrence in the lives of emergency responders. Unfortunately, that can often put first responders at greater risk for a variety of mental health concerns, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This presentation will discuss the signs and symptoms of PTSD, including what is known about PTSD in EMS personnel. We will discuss risk factors and warning signs that are specific to first responders, as well as how to get a person connected to help if you are concerned they may be dealing with mental health concerns.
