Senior Shift Technician

Salary range: £36,060 - £40,750 per annum (Inclusive of Inner London Weighting), dependent on skills and experience + 22% additional shift allowance

The Barbican Centre and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama are key cultural and educational institutions in the heart of the City of London forming part of the Barbican Campus. Running and maintenance of the estate, comprising of nine buildings covering 152,000 square metres in total, is supported by a large, established, engineering team. 

A rare, exciting & challenging opportunity has arisen to join our team working across the Barbican Campus. As a senior Engineering Shift Technician, you will work as part of a multi-disciplined, shift team in providing the full spectrum of Engineering expertise and support to some of the City of London Corporation’s highest profile buildings.   

You'll be required to undertake planned maintenance as well as improvement work, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent technical skills (with hands on experience in a similar complex large commercial building/maintenance environment). You will also be adaptable and flexible in approach and used to the pressures and demands of high profile client’s needs.  

The successful applicant will also be highly motivated, proactive & adaptable in approach, be fully trade qualified in an appropriate HVAC/Mechanical/Plumbing discipline(s) with an excellent understanding of modern building services and their control system.

The shift is worked as a 12 hour shift over a 28 day/24 hour rolling shift pattern.
